KLCI trails behind most key Asian markets

KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia continued with its lacklustre performance on Wednesday with the key FBM KLCI trailing behind nearly all key Asian markets as crude oil and crude palm oil prices fell.

At 5pm, the KLCI was up 1.53 points or 0.09% to 1,708.08. Turnover was 2.69 billion shares valued at RM2.78bil. There were 474 gainers, 389 losers and 389 counters unchanged.

The ringgit was higher against the US dollar and the Euro but slipped against the pound sterling and Singapore dollar.

It rose to 4.4535 against the US dollar from 4.4573 the previous day and rose to 4.6782 to the Euro from 4.7087. However, it weakened against the pound to 5.5533 from 5.5383 and slipped against the Singapore dollar to 3.1391 from 3.1355.
