Najib leaves MACC HQ for Bukit Aman for more questioning

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has left the MACC headquarters for Bukit Aman for questioning by the police before going to court to face charges later today (Sept 20).

The former prime minister left at 8.55am in a black Toyota Alphard bearing registration number JRW3056 and was escorted by the police and graft investigators.

He is said to be heading to Bukit Aman’s Commercial Crime Investigations Department located at Menara 238, Jalan Tun Razak.

Later at 3pm, he will be brought to the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court to face a list of charges under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act, the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

An hour into questioning, investigators decided to arrest him at 4.13pm, and he was detained overnight.

His trip to court today would mark the third time he is charged.

In July, the former prime minister claimed trial to three counts of criminal breach of trust and one for bribery. In August, he was slapped with three charges relating to money laundering.
