Malay Mail launches its first Chinese language news portal

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 21): Malay Mail has launched its first Chinese news portal “Cincai News”, which forms an important part of Malay Mail’s digital expansion.

Malay Mail said in a statement today the group announced three weeks ago its plan to go 100% digital with Dec 1, 2018 being the last date of its print publication.

Today, Malay Mail said Cincai News would cover politics and lifestyle stories as well as food, which is a big part of the Malaysian community.

Malay Mail editor-in-chief Datuk Wong Sai Wan said in the statement: “The Chinese market is an important part of Malay Mail’s expansion in its digital strategy. As a responsible news organisation, it is important for us to address our readers in different languages.”

“Earlier this year, we launched our Malay-language portal Projekmm.com which is also getting traction with our Malay-reading audiences,” Wong said.
