Shippez.com marks out expansion plans

KUALA LUMPUR: Shippez.com, an online transport aggregator operated by Onlinefellas Sdn Bhd (OSB), has set big expansion plans to attract more consumers to its unique logistic model.

With over 1200 vehicles ranging from 1 tonne lorry to 40 foot trailer currently in its fleet, Shippez.com is seizing opportunities in Malaysia, Thailand and to a larger extent – China and Central Asia.

OSB founder and chief executive officer Mohamed Shakir Bin Mohamed Osman said with this new logistic service model, the company aims to secure logistic businesses from Malaysia all the way to China and vice-versa.

“We are here to create a new method of logistics delivery by making transporting a more seamless experience.

“Our model are quite receptive among vehicle owners, from lorries to 4X4 truck owners throughout Malaysia,” he told NST Business recently.

Shippez.com, an independent website that uses a unique method that make use of unused space of registered transporters and vehicle owners to transport goods.

It offers 2 unique service – Co-Share and AllYours.

Co-Share is mainly sharing the unused cargo space with other customer using the same transporter operator traveling the same route.

This only utilizes transport vehicle that traveling half empty or totally empty with ad-hoc goods.

Whereas, AllYours a full charter service for customer who require much larger space.

Drivers of lorries and cargo vehicles can register with Shippez.com and bid for good to be delivered to the destination they are heading and earn extra money.

This allows consumers and companies who are looking for quicker way to transport goods to use the service

to meet the shipment of goods anywhere faster and easier.

“We have engage with more than 8,000 ad-hoc customers and aiming to reach 3,000 lorries and vans by the second quarter of 2019, and growing up to 20,000 customers database.

“We are looking for ways to utilise transport operators’ unused space and also freight trains that are underutilised,” Mohamed Shakir said adding that OSB is currently in discussion with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd in providing the services.

The uniqueness of Shippez.com allows transport operator set the pricing (on real-time) directly to customer.

“We earn commission for every successfully transactions from our transport operator, about 10 per cent per transaction.

“Transport operator can quote any pricing based on their effort and time,” Mohamed Shakir said.

Touching on customer base, Mohamed Shakir said the company is serving 3 corporate accounts namely, a subcontractor for Petroliam Nasional Bhd, a subcontractor for a chemical company and aother subcontractor company for Coca-Cola Malaysia.

OSB is also in discussion with an oil and gas company, online retail company and a tyre company to provide cargo logistics services via Shippez.com.

On other customer base, Mohamed Shakir said small and medium industry clients currently is about 80 while weekly ad-hoc customers is about 50.

Further, OSB is also on a lookout for potential partnership with companies and individuals who are keen on collaborations and explore the business model further.
