Huawei knocks RM600 off Mate 20 Pro’s price

Huawei will be making its flagship Mate 20 Pro more affordable by slashing the price by RM600 – starting tomorrow it will be available for RM2,999.

The discount applies specifically to the Mate 20 Pro version with 6GB RAM and 128GB on-board memory, and it’s available in Emerald Green, Twilight, and Black colours.

Huawei consumer business group deputy country director Matthew Ng says the move is in celebration of the Mate 20 Pro receiving the Best Smartphone award at the Mobile World Congress 2019.

He said this is also driven by strong sales of the model in Malaysia.

The Mate 20 Pro boasts three main cameras – a 40-megapixel sensor with wide-angle lens, 8-megapixel sensor with telephoto lens, and 20-megapixel sensor with ultra-wide angle lens.

It also features an on-screen fingerprint scanner and reverse charging, which lets it charge other supported devices wirelessly.

The smartphone also supports Nano Memory cards, which are 45% smaller than microSDs, and are the same size and shape as nano SIM cards.

When first launched in October last year, the Mate 20 Pro was priced at RM3,599, while the Mate 20 at RM2,799 though it has since been discounted to RM2,399.
