Gobind to comment on tie-up

PUTRAJAYA: Communication and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo will issue a statement on the proposed merger deal between Axiata Group Bhd and Norway’s Telenor Group today.

“(Whether) it is positive or negative (news), it will depend on reading the statement from whose perspective,” he told reporters at the Pakatan Harapan government’s first anniversary event, here yesterday.

Axiata had on Monday announced that it is in talks with Telenor Group to merge their operations in Asia. — Bernama
