Quick take: Apex Healthcare shares fall on profit-taking

KUALA LUMPUR: Apex Healthcare Bhd’s shares were lower in early trade Monday as investors take profit after the recent gains.

The pharmaceutical company fell 2.3%, or 20 sen to RM8.50, making it the top loser on Bursa Malaysia. The counter has gained 8.5% year-to-date.

Apex Healthcare has proposed a bonus issue of up to 358.92 million shares on the basis of three bonus shares for every existing shares. The ex-date is on June 24 while entitlement date on June 24.

In the first quarter ended March 31, Apex Healthcare posted a net profit of RM11.4mil, or 9.71 sen earnings per share (EPS) against RM13.18mil, or 11.25 sen EPS in the same period last year.

Its revenue for the period stood at RM178.22mil from RM168.4mil previously.
