Malaysian SMEs expected to generate RM20mil in sales at International Paris Airshow

PETALING JAYA: Malaysian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) entrepreneurs are expected to generate RM20mil in potential sales at the International Paris Airshow 2019, says the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED).

According to a statement Thursday (June 20), its Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof announced that they had negotiated RM20mil in potential sales between participating SMEs and international partners seeking for outsourcing opportunities.

“The participation of SMEs under the Malaysia Pavilion has garnered keen interest and numerous enquiries from both domestic and foreign aerospace players from the United Kingdom, France and Japan,” it said.

It said aerospace players have shown interest in joint venture, integration into the aerospace supply chain and technology experience sharing in the research and development phase and commercialisation, particularly in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance, repair and overhaul.

It said the four participating Malaysian SMEs has put up a strong show of their technological capabilities and the potentials sales and investment may create a multiplying effect for Malaysian SMEs in the global aerospace industry.

The four participating SMEs are Curge Advance Sdn Bhd, Jecmetal Industries Sdn Bhd, JWR Industries Sdn Bhd and Venture Die Casting Sdn Bhd.

MED said they come from diverse industries such as aircraft components and parts manufacturing, precision metallic machining, metal stamping and fabrication and surface finishing.
