Hi Home aims for RM500m in transactions

KUALA LUMPUR: Soon to be launched Hi Home online property exposition is targeting RM500 million worth of transactions within three months.

Powered by Hartabumi.com, the online property expo will offer more than 100 projects nationwide, with accumulatively close to RM3 billion in value.

Hartabumi.com founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Radzi Tajuddin said more than one million visitors were expected during the three months.

“The online property expo will be launched on July 25 until Oct 31. It’s not just property from private developers that will be available, but also affordable housing from the National Housing Department, Rumah Selangorku, Rumah Perakku and Residensi Wilayah.”

He said some innovative technologies would be introduced as well, such as profile calculator, location-based transactional data and smart chat box, to provide a seamless experience for buyers.

Radzi said the inaugural Hi Home property conference would be held at the Malaysian International Trade and Exhibition Centre.

“The property conference, along with the online expo, is an extension of Hartabumi.com, but more inclusive, not only for Bumiputeras.

“The concept of the conference is influential in terms of the renowned personalities featured to discuss home ownership and properties, and disruptive in terms of the way we do things, with Hi Home being the first property conference in Malaysia to use the TED Talk concept.

“Each speaker will be given between 15 and 20 minutes and they will talk about new ideas, solutions, straight to the point with proper slides and no question and answer session.

“We will have a conference app, all the slides will be available and they can interact with fellow delegates via app on that day.”

Among the notable speakers are AirAsia Group Bhd founder and group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, CIMB Group Holdings Bhd group CEO Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Aziz, Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd executive vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Judin Abdul Karim, Khazanah Research Institute research director Dr Suraya Ismail, Propenomy Academy founder Dr Daniele Gambero, RinggitPlus CEO Hann Liew, TheLorry.com co-founder and director Nadhir Ashafiq and Ho Chin Soon Research CEO Ishmael Ho.

“People will wonder how Fernandes can talk about property. But maybe he has some ideas on how he can disrupt the property market to make it affordable, like ‘now everyone can buy a house’.”

Radzi said Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin and Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman will launch the conference.

“About 700 delegates are expected to attend the event. In fact, the conference is not a place to make money, but to gather all players, experts and personalities to discuss property.”
