Luxury lifestyle in Iskandar Malaysia

THE award-winning Horizon Hills township continues to be the most sought after address and a choice location for high-end residential property buyers in Iskandar Malaysia.

Horizon Hills Development Sdn Bhd general manager Jim Woon said the project had been steadily attracting both local and foreign buyers since it kicked off in 2007.

He said prior to the launch of the country’s first economic growth corridor Iskandar Malaysia on Nov 4, 2006, there were not many choices when it came to high-end residential properties in south Johor.

“The company is fortunate as it was one of the first developers to cater to the needs of buyers looking for high-end residential properties in Iskandar Malaysia,” said Woon.

He said the company was banking on the strategic partnership of two of Malaysia’s well-known property developers with proven track records on the project.

Horizon Hills is a 50:50 joint venture between Gamuda Land Bhd and UEM Sunrise Bhd with both partners undertaking the development of the township spreading over 485.62ha (1,200 acres).

About 60% of the area has been developed comprising 4,500 units double-storey link houses, cluster houses, semi-detached, bungalows, condominiums and commercial units – all of which have been delivered to owners.

Woon said prices of residential properties at Horizon Hills were higher than the average selling prices way back in 2007 but the take-up rate was good and the trend continues to date.

“Our buyers are willing to pay more as they are not only buying houses but also lifestyle,” he said, adding 40% of 485.62ha would be set aside for homes and 60% for green areas.

The company had invested RM200mil on infrastructure and was the first developer in Iskandar Malaysia to offer golf club memberships to house owners for the 18-hole, 80.93ha golf course within the development.

All Horizon Hills residents are entitled to complimentary membership at Horizon Hills Golf and Country Club with facilities including swimming pool, tennis and badminton courts, gymnasium,

restaurants, cafes, spa and beauty centre, and a ballroom.

He said the township’s strategic location was its strong selling point as the project was easily accessible, being just 18km from the Second Link Crossing in Tanjung Kupang, Gelang Patah, and close to Lebuh Iskandar, North-South Expressway, Perling-Pasir Gudang Highway and Skudai Expressway.

“Iskandar Malaysia will continue to attract new investors and residents will help to push demand

for residential properties in the economic growth corridor,” said Woon.

On that note, the company is launching The Woodlands Precinct Phase 4 tomorrow, featuring 24’ x 75’ double-storey link houses priced from RM1mil, 35’ x 80’ cluster houses from RM1.61mil and two- and three-storey bungalows with land area from 5,400 sq ft with a price tag starting from RM3.33mil.

The company has high hopes for the new phase, as The Woodlands Phase 1 and Phase 2 (2 Storey Link 20’ & 22’ x 70’) have been sold out, while The Woodlands Phase 3 (launched in April 2019, featuring 2 Storey Super Link 24’ x 75’) is 65% sold.
