Trading ideas: Pintaras Jaya, Pentamaster, Dialog, Guocoland, Elsoft

KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Pintaras Jaya Bhd, Pentamaster Corp Bhd, Dialog Group Bhd, Guocoland (M) Bhd and ELSOFT RESEARCH BHD to be among the stocks to watch on Monday.

The research house also expects VIZIONE HOLDINGS BHD, Axiata Group Bhd and Digi.Com to see trading interest following their latest corporate news.

Pintaras Jaya has secured an RM91mil (S$30mil) piling contract in Singapore.

Pentamaster’s second quarter net profit rose 40.11% year-on-year thanks to greater sales from its automated test equipment and factory automation solutions segments.

Dialog is increasing its stake in Haliburton Bayan Petroleum Sdn Bhd (HBP) to 75% for US$8.22mil (RM34.5mil) cash.

HBP is an independent technical service contractor for the Oilfield Services Contract (OSC) with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd.

Guocoland posted its fifth consecutive quarterly loss for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2019.

But the net loss narrowed to RM11.69mil from RM35.73mil last year due to earnings recognised from the launch of the Emerald Hills in Cheras.

Elsoft Research’s 2QFY19 net profit declined 47.65% year-on-year on the back of lower revenue.

Vizione is looking to raise up to RM59.08mil via a private placement of up to 10% of its total shares to third party investors to be identified later.

Axiata and Digi as a news report highlighted that the proposed merger between the Axiata Group and Norway’s Telenor ASA may have hit a snag.

Meanwhile, US markets rallied on Friday following a rebound in bond yields eased concerns of a global recession. Earlier, European stocks advanced after bond yields came off multi-year lows.

“Following the positive performance in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could rebound towards the resistance of 1,630 points,” JF Apex said.
