Kanger, SSB collaborate to market antimicrobial coating solutions in Malaysia, globally

KUALA LUMPUR: Kanger International Bhd (KIB) is collaborating with Stoika Sdn Bhd (SSB) to distribute commercial antimicrobial coating solutions in Malaysia as well as in overseas markets.

KIB inked a sub-distributor appointment agreement for the Malaysian market, as well as a joint venture (JV) collaboration agreement for the international market with SSB.

The deal entails KIB and SSB holding 51 per cent and 49 per cent equity stakes in the JV company respectively.

While KIB will be a sub-distributor for the Malaysian market, the JV company will be the main distributor in other countries.

KIB executive director Zarif Kenneth Hooi said this collaboration opens up new opportunities for the company to address the urgent global need for long-lasting antimicrobial solutions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“As countries all over the world are starting to gradually ease lock down measures, businesses and governments will be looking for solutions to ensure the health and safety of their customers and employees,” he said in a statement today.

SSB is the exclusive distributor of SDPRO and SDST products in Malaysia, which are patented nanotechnology-based coating products proven to be highly effective in eliminating viruses, bacteria, including Covid-19, SARS, MERS, Coxsackie viruses and other dangerous pathogens such as E.Coli and Salmonella.

KIB executive director Joseph Wu Wai Kong said the the company is working with SSB in establishing new international sales channels and customers for these revolutionary products that have gained commercial acceptance amongst reputable clients and are globally recognized.

“We have already targeted several sizeable potential customers in various countries and today’s JV will enable us to move forward quickly with the backing of a solid technical partner,” he said.

Past and on-going projects of SSB and its counterparts include Changi Airport, Monetary Authority of Singapore, DBS Bank, National University of Singapore, Gardens Mall at Mid-Valley and The Exchange 106 at Tun Razak Exchange.

Both KIB and SSB anticipate SDPRO and SDST products will go a long way in mitigating and controlling the spread of diseases such as Covid-19.
