Dr Noor Hisham reminded employers to ensure that workers, especially those in sectors involving foreign labour, abide by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and practice preventive measures against Covid-19 at the workplace.

Among them are screening for symptoms by taking body temperature before entering premises, providing hand-washing places and hand sanitisers, carrying out frequent cleaning and disinfection especially at communal areas and maintaining social distancing of at least one metre including at workplace area and pantry.

He also reminded that workers should not gather at confined areas or assemble at any time, and to ensure a minimum of one metre between them while having conversations.

“Employers should also carry out checks to ensure that these practices are being followed among the workers. This is to prevent Covid-19 from spreading among them and in the community,” he said.
