PlayStation 5 pre-orders to open on Nov 12

KUALA LUMPUR: Just in time for Christmas, Sony has announced that the PlayStation 5 (PS5) will officially be launched in Malaysia come Dec 11.

According to Sony Interactive Entertainment Singapore Private Limited (SIES) both versions (standard Blu-ray and digital edition) of the company’s latest gaming console is available for pre-orders starting Nov 12 at selected retailers.

The standard PS5 with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive will be available at a recommended retail price (RRP) of RM2,299, while the PS5 Digital Edition will be available for a RM1,869.

Besides relying on either physical disc or purely digital download both PS5 models are virtually the same as they use the same custom processor with integrated CPU and GPU for high-fidelity graphics up to 4K, as well as the same ultra-high speed SSD with integrated I/O.

The two also use DualSense Wireless Controller and have 3D audio capabilities.

SIES has also listed and priced a range of accessories that will launch alongside the console:

DualSense Wireless Controller (standalone) (RM349), PULSE 3D wireless headset (with 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones) (RM469), HD Camera (with dual 1080p) (RM279), Media Remote (RM149), and DualSense Charging Station (RM149).

PS5 exclusive titles at launch will have a suggested retail pricing (SRP) from RM209 to RM299 according to SIE Worldwide Studios.

Games available at launch includes Astro’s Playroom (pre-installed on PS5), Demon’s Souls (RM299), Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales (RM209), Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition (RM299), and Sackboy A Big Adventure (RM249).
