foodpanda’s Shops commits to delivering grocery and essentials under 30 minutes

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 27): Delivery platform foodpanda, through its on-demand delivery service Shops, is offering daily essentials and grocery delivery services from over 3,500 vendors nationwide with a delivery time of under 30 minutes.

In a statement yesterday, foodpanda said some of the most popular vendors on Shops include Tesco, 7-Eleven, FamillyMart, Marks & Spencer, Lulu Hypermarket, Watsons, Shell Select and Petron.

foodpanda Malaysia managing director Sayantan Das said speed and convenience are becoming more important than ever before.

“We are confident that the on-demand shopping experience can cut traditional waiting times, adding a fresh take on conventional e-commerce and retail shop experiences,” he said.

Das said foodpanda also provides a launchpad for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to move their businesses online via its app, adding that heavily impacted brick-and-mortar shops had vastly benefited from this.

“”It is fortunate that we are in a position to help local business owners and their employees.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has shuttered many physical stores worldwide, which were not able to readily move their business online. We hope that by providing tools and guidance on our platform, we can help many SMEs to stay in business,” he said.

He said popular SMEs on Shops include Hup Soon Food, Pasaraya Borong Matahari, Choice Shop Melaka, Agro Fresh Bites Subang, Pasaraya Sing Long Pasir Gudang and Nadia Fruits Bangsar.

Das highlighted that foodpanda recently partnered with Tesco on Shops to further strengthen its offerings with up to 3,000 additional items ranging from fresh produce to groceries and so on.

“Partnering with Tesco gives our customers more choices and increased accessibility to them as this adds 62 stores nationwide,” he said.
