Suzuki Swift Sport returns to Malaysia under new distributor Naza Eastern

KUALA LUMPUR: The Suzuki Swift Sport has found its way back to Malaysia, marking the first launch of new generation Suzuki Cars in the country under new distributor, Naza Eastern Motors Sdn Bhd.

Naza Automotive Corporation Sdn Bhd group chief executive officer Datuk Nik Hamdam Nik Hassan said it was ecstatic to kick start Suzuki’s reintroduction in Malaysia with the highly popular hot-hatchback that won the hearts of many enthusiasts back in the days.

“We believe that this model can captivate enthusiasts once again from its aggressive styling, all-new drivetrain, and responsive handling.

“The Japan imported Suzuki Swift Sport comes equipped with the 1.4 litre boosterjet engine paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifter that produces 140 horsepower and 230 newton-metre of torque from 2,500rpm.

“Underpinning the car is the new generation Heartech platform that ensures enhanced collision safety via its strengthened underbody rigidity,” said Nik Hamdam at the launch here last Friday.

Meanwhile, Naza Eastern head of company Mohamad Redza reportedly said this year would see the company focusing on fully-imported Suzuki’s “icons” as it rebuilds the brand in Malaysia.

The Jimny would make its debut in the second half of 2021 in the CBU (complete built-up) form, paultan.org quoted Mohamad Redza as saying.

At the volumes that Naza Eastern was looking at, the local assembly of Suzuki vehicles was not viable, he added. Suzuki has assembly operations in Thailand and Indonesia, and cars can be brought in via the Asean free trade area.

The Suzuki Swift Sport comes in four different colours ranging from Champion Yellow, Pearl Pure White, Speedy Blue Metallic, and Burning Red Pearl Metallic.

Interested patrons can go to Naza Eastern’s first Suzuki 3S flagship showroom at Naza Automall in Petaling Jaya to view and experience the hatchback.

The 2,702 square feet flagship showroom will welcome customers with a bright and vibrant environment.

Customers can also purchase their favourite official Suzuki merchandise during their visit or learn about the brief history of Suzuki at the delivery bay.

Aside from the 3S flagship showroom, Naza Eastern is also officially opening the doors to its first Suzuki Service Centre at Naza Automall.
