Khairy says ‘don’t worry’ after WhatsApp message claiming potential error in MySejahtera vaccination registration goes viral

PETALING JAYA: Khairy Jamaluddin has assured members of the public that their Covid-19 vaccination registration on the MySejahtera app is valid in the wake of a viral WhatsApp message that claims a ‘potential error’ could be affecting their registration status.

The Coordinating Minister for Covid-19 Immunisation clarified in a press conference today that MySejahtera has pushed an additional feature for users to update their postcode and state.

“Those who have registered (to receive Covid-19 vaccination) do not have to worry as all their information has been stored into the system. All registrations are valid and complete for the vaccination programme,” he said.

He explained that MySejahtera is now gathering additional information as a small number of users may have keyed in incorrect addresses using the Google Maps feature on the app.

“We’re asking for clarification in terms of postcode and state just to verify that the information provided in the original registration was accurate,” he added.

In the viral WhatsApp message, which has also been shared widely on other social media platforms, a user claimed that if a person’s MySejahtera vaccination page is not showing the state and postcode info, then the registration is deemed “not complete”.

The user added that “the correct status” should show a person’s current address and postcode information under the Assessment tab.

Khairy refuted the claim by saying all registrations have been recorded and applicants will receive their appointment dates later, even if MySejahtera is not showing the address and postcode information.

In a reply to a user on Twitter, the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) explained that users’ position in the Covid-19 vaccination queue is not affected if they choose to update their address information.
