Loob to hire 1,200 to 1,500 workers for new Tealive outlets

KUALA LUMPUR: Loob Holding Sdn Bhd plans to hire between 1,200 and 1,500 workers over the next two years as it seeks to expand with 250 new outlets. Its CEO Bryan Loo (pic) said the additional 250 outlets would double its network to 500 outlets in Malaysia by mid-2021.

“This means for Tealive alone, we will need over 1,200 workers given an average of five workers per outlet,” he said.

Loob is behind popular F&B brands including Tealive, Ko Ko Kai, Gindaco and Define Food.

He added that when Loob created Tealive with a mission to spread a modern-day tea culture among Malaysians, it also had an objective of creating more job opportunities for Malaysians.

“We’re happy that with the support of all Malaysian tea-lovers, Tealive has been well-accepted and truly loved wherever we open up.

“So, for budding entrepreneurs, we’re a very attractive workplace to develop their business acumen and learn the relevant skillsets involved in managing a profitable F&B business.

“As entrepreneurship is one of the core values within Loob as an organisation, it’s only natural that we try to nurture more F&B entrepreneurs from within our ranks. This, we are doing through our human capital policies and talent management programmes.

“Having picked up these skills at Loob, we are confident the young and talented will be able to pursue their dream of having their very own F&B business in future.

“We’re happy to give them a head-start,” Loo said.

Loob recently collaborated with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) to place their graduates at Tealive outlets for hands-on experience in managing stores.

In conjunction with this, Tealive has also signed a collaborative pact with Petronas to open 300 Tealive stores within Petronas Kedai Mesra shops in three years.
