Bank Islam wins Al-Mansor Excellence Award

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd ushers in the new year by winning the Al-Mansor Excellence Award in Islamic Financial Services at the Islamic Excellence Awards 1441H/2020AD.

The award recognises Bank Islam’s outstanding performance and contribution in the field of Islamic banking and finance in the country, compatible with the global landscape.

Bank Islam chief executive officer Mohd Muazzam Mohamed received the award from Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Muizzudin Shah at the awards ceremony recently at Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur.

“We are proud, yet humbled, to be given this prestigious honour. Winning the Al-Mansor Excellence Award signifies a good start for Bank Islam in year 2020 and this will motivate us to work harder in achieving greater heights, ” said Mohd Muazzam.

“Since our inception in 1983, Bank Islam has grown from strength to strength as Malaysia’s first Islamic bank.

Designed to showcase outstanding individuals and institutions in various fields including academics, corporate, business and social advocacy, the Islamic Excellence Awards 1441H/2020AD, organised by Majlis Dakwah Negara, is to advocate and inspire progress, resilience and success, without compromising honour, heritage and history.

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad was established in 1983 as the nation’s first Islamic bank. To date, the bank has a network of 144 branches and more than 1,000 self-service terminals nationwide.
