Trading ideas: Sime Darby, LFE, Ikhmas Jaya, AMMB, IHH

KUALA LUMPUR: JF Apex Research expects Sime Darby Bhd, LFE Corp Bhd, Ikhmas Jaya Group Bhd, AMMB HOLDINGS BHD and IHH HEALTHCARE BHD to be among the stocks to watch on Monday.

Chemical Company of Malaysia Bhdhas awarded Sime Darby Bhd a RM27.9mil contract to construct a co-generation (cogen) plant in Pasir Gudang, Johor.

LFE has secured three new projects in FY19, which contributed RM66.6mil million to the group’s order book.

Ikhmas Jaya’s independent auditor Messrs KPMG PLT has highlighted material uncertainty on the group’s ability to continue as a going concern after reviewing its interim financial statements.

AMMB’s net profit for the second quarter ended Sept 30,2019 (Q220) dropped 8.2% to RM319.57mil from RM348.15mil a year ago, dragged down by the allowance for impairment on financial investments.

IHH posted a net profit of RM236.34 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30,2019 (Q3) compared with a net loss of RM104.07 million in the same quarter last year.

JF Apex noted that Boustead, Eversendai, Titijaya, SKP Resources saw their quarterly earnings decline year-on-year, whilst QL Resources, Time dotCom, Duopharma, Bintulu Port, BIMB, Mudajaya posted better year-on-year quarterly net profits.

Meanwhile. US market declined on Friday as investors took profit amid fresh uncertainty on the US-China trade deal after President Trump signed a bill that supports Hong Kong protests.

Similarly, European stocks tumbled after escalating trade tension

“Following the bearish sentiment, the FBM KLCI could trend lower towards the support of 1,550 points, ” JF Apex said.
