Behave or pay more for your food, restaurant tells patrons

A restaurant in Johor Baru is encouraging its customers to be nice to its cooks and waiters – or they will have to pay an additional RM10.

Aside from the regular “No outside food and drinks allowed” notice, the Piao Xiang Claypot Chicken Rice Restaurant also has several other signs written in English on a pillar.

One reads “Prices subject to change according to customer’s attitude” and another states “If you’re arrogant, grouchy, irritable, or just a pain in the a**e, there’ll be a RM10 charge for putting up with your s**t”.

Another sign says, “Normal people contribute to charitable causes. Idiots contribute to an increase in beggars, Are you normal?”

“They don’t put up with s**t in JB” he added.

The post has been shared over 6,000 times and has over 2,000 likes.

Many Malaysians were amused by the posting and said they want to visit the restaurant.

“Where is this? I am obligated to support them,” wrote Feng Lim.

Alexander Tan Kok Bing said the restaurant should put an additional rule for pet owners.

“If you wanna bring a pet, please pay extra RM1,000 per pet,” he joked.

Some also commented about the warning of not giving money to beggars walking into the restaurant.

Joshua Wong said he was unsure if what these beggars would do with the money given.

“That’s the reason I don’t give money to them. Either I pay them the foods or he/she get out of here,” he added.

The restaurant and Teoh have yet to respond at press time.
