Malaysia’s reserves surge by US$300m to US$101.7b
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia’s international reserves have risen by US$300 million to US$101.70 billion as at January 15, 2019, from two weeks earlier.
The central bank said in a statement today the reserve position was sufficient to finance 7.3 months of retained imports and was one time the short-term external debt.
The ringgit has firmed up against the US dollar to 4.0975 at January 15, 2019, from 4.1385 on December 31, 2018.
