Johor MB calls on Bersatu members to close ranks, strengthen unity with other Pakatan parties

JOHOR BARU: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal has called on all Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) members statewide to close ranks and to strengthen their unity and work closely with other parties in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

He said that it was only through unity that the new government could achieve greater success and fulfil all of the people’s wishes and demands.

“Remember the struggles that we have gone through to get where we are now.

Do not let it go to waste, we are still new and there is a lot that we still need to achieve.

“PH is only strong when all parties are united with one another. Although it is not easy to handle all four parties, and there will be some misunderstanding between us, always remember the people’s hopes for us, ” he said.

He was giving a speech at the Sembang Santai programme organised by Pasir Gudang Armada (Bersatu’s youth wing) at Restoran Al-Alif, Bandar Seri Alam, here Wednesday (28 Aug).

He added that Bersatu members should also check their ego and not be careless after winning the last general election and forming the government.

“I was given this opportunity and trust to lead the people of Johor as the Mentri Besar and I will do my very best to fulfil all of the people’s hopes and dreams.

“However, I cannot do all of this without the support and help from the people and the members of Bersatu itself, so I hope that I can get all of your support so that we can build a better Johor, ” he added.

Sahruddin also said that he would continue to support any programme that aims to strengthen ties between Bersatu party members and other Pakatan political parties.

During the event, Sahruddin also officiated the new Pasir Gudang Bersatu office at Jalan Gunung, here.
