Electricity returns to Segamat in stages, 18,958 consumers affected

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 15 — Electricity in Segamat is being restored in stages beginning 8.15pm tonight, following a breakdown at Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s (TNB) Bukit Siput Transmission Main Intake, affecting some 18,958 consumers.

The breakdown occurred at 5.35pm.

Restoration efforts have included the use of 85 generator mobile sets.

Up to 10.30pm tonight, electricity was restored to about 30 per cent of affected areas, said TNB in a statement.
