Faidhi Resources to open 15 LPG bottling plants by 2021

KUALA LUMPUR: Faidhi Resources Sdn Bhd plans to open 15 new liquefied petroleum gas bottling plants by 2021.

Founder and president Datuk Seri Abu Talib Abu said the company would be investing RM15 million for each plant.

“With these plants, we can reduce the logistics costs for our clients. We will also create more than 1,200 jobs once the plants, agents and vendors are in place,” he told reporters here today.

Currently, Fadhi Resources operates a single plant in Seberang Perai, Penang, with a maximum production capacity of 700,000 cylinders.

Meanwhile, the company has launched a new composite LPG cylinder attached with a radio-frequency identification (RFID) device.

Abu Talib said the RFID device would contain customers’ data to ensure that government subsidy for LPG would only be received by those eligible.

“We have engaged with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry and the response is positive. With this technology, we will ensure that the subsidy is not misused,” he said.

Abu Talib said the company expects to sell 100,000 cylinders in the first quarter of this year. – Bernama
