Quick take: Bina Darulaman shares up 30% in active trade

KUALA LUMPUR: Bina Darulaman Bhd (BDB) is the top gainer on Bursa Malaysia in early trade on Wednesday.

The counter surged 30%, or 12 sen to 52 sen, the highest since March 2018 with 2.12 million shares traded.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2018, Bina Darulaman’s net loss widened to RM42.19mil against RM12.24mil in the same period a year ago.

Its revenue for the period stood at RM203.39mil, down from RM251.70mil in the previous year.

In January, Bina Darulaman appointed Faris Najhan Hashim group chief executive officer with effect from Feb 3.

Prior to the appointment of Faris, 52, the company was managed by a three-men executive committee headed by Abdul Rahman Abdullah following the death of its former managing director Datuk Izham Yusoff on Mar 12 last year.
