Gmail, Google Drive and YouTube back to normal

Gmail, Google Drive and YouTube, which suffered major outages early in the morning, are back to normal.

“The problem with Gmail and Drive should be resolved. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better,” the company posted on Google Suite Status Dashboard.

According to charts and outage maps on websites Down Detector and Outage.Report, users in the United States, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia were the most hit.

Gmail users had trouble sending emails, adding and accessing attachments, and saving their drafts, while Drive users had problems uploading and downloading files.

Google’s YouTube was also hit by glitches but the service has been restored.

YouTube tweeted that videos are now playing without error messages, uploads are back to normal and issues with profile images as well as community posts should also be back to normal.
