1.5 million civil servants to receive festive bonus

PETALING JAYA: Civil servants in Grade 56 and below will receive special financial assistance amounting to RM450 each for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, says the Prime Minister’s Department.

It said the special assistance will be given to close to 1.5 million civil servants.

“A special financial assistance of RM225 will also be enjoyed by almost 800,000 retired civil servants as appreciation for their services and contribution.

“The special financial assistance will be disbursed on May 24,” it said in a statement yesterday.

A total of RM855mil has been allocated for the special financial assistance for civil servants and retirees.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has said the government will be giving out a bonus to civil servants in conjunction with Hari Raya.
