Water rationing may be extended

JOHOR BARU: The scheduled water supply involving consumers in Simpang Renggam, Layang-Layang and Pontian Utara, which should end on Oct 1, may be extended until the end of next month following the continuous drop in water level at Machap Dam due to dry weather.

Johor International Trade, Investment and Utilities Committee chairman Jimmy Puah said that going by the reading of the current water level at Machap Dam, consumers were urged to be ready for the possibility of the scheduled water supply for Simpang Renggam Water Treatment Plant being extended until Oct 31, subject to approval by the National Water Services Commission. — Bernama
