Trading ideas: MMC, Vortex, GHL. KKB Engineering, LBS Bina, OCK, Plastrade

KUALA LUMPUR: MMC Corp Bhd, Felda Holdings Bhd, Vortex Consolidated Bhd, GHL Systems Bhd,KKB Engineering Bhd, LBS BINA GROUP BHD, OCK Group Bhd and Plastrade Technology Bhd are among the stocks to watch on Tuesday, according to JF Apex Research.

MMC seeks to team up with FGV Holdings to explore the potential equity participation of up to 25% stake in Fauji Akbar Portia Marine Terminals Ltd, an entity which had been granted a concession by the Port Qasim Authority to operate a dry bulk terminal in Port Qasim, Pakistan.

Vortex Consolidated confirmed that it is in talks to acquire a stockbroking firm but said it has yet to enter into any definitive agreement.

GHL Systems, in partnership with Mastercard, has launched a tokenized e-payments solution that offers simpler, more secure and seamless digital payment experiences for consumers.

OCK’s Cambodian unit’s suit against Nokia Shanghai Bell Co., Ltd and branch of Alcatel-Lucent Shangai Bell Co., Ltd over the breach of the subcontract agreement signed in April 2014 has been concluded.

Plastrade Technology is acquiring the business of computer hardware trader EA Comtronix Sdn Bhd by cash and share issuance worth RM12mil, which will see the latter emerging as the new largest shareholder in Plastrade.

Meanwhile, US markets rose overnight led by technology counters as investors shake off geopolitical concerns over US’ attack that killed Iran’s top military leader.

Earlier, European stocks declined as investors switched from equities to safe haven assets such as gold and bond following the US-Iran tension.

“Following the mixed performances in the US and Europe, the FBM KLCI could trend sideways below the resistance of 1,615 points,” JF Apex said.
