Boost eWallet lets users claim free life insurance with Covid-19 coverage
Boost eWallet is offering free Prudential life insurance with a Special Covid-19 coverage to users through its app, with RM1,000 payout to family upon death. It also includes a one-time RM5,000 coverage payout upon diagnosis of Covid-19.
The offer is applicable to verified Boost Premium Wallet users, who must be Malaysians aged between 18 to 55 years old, and limited to the first 200,000 enrolments.
To sign up, users simply have to log in to their Boost app, click on the Covid-19 coverage tile and enrol. The company says it will take up to three days to process the enrolment.
The insurance coverage will start from the enrolment date until April 30, 2020.
As Basic Wallet users are not eligible for this offer, the company has listed on its website the steps required to become a verified Premium Wallet user. Users can go to Profile and click “Upgrade to Premium wallet for free”, then follow the steps for a one-time verification process.
Premium Wallet users are entitled to perks like the ability to add up to RM1,500 into the Boost eWallet, spend/transfer/cash out up to RM4,500 monthly, and cash out all the money from the eWallet to a bank account when closing the Boost eWallet account. In contrast, Basic Wallet users can only add up to RM200 to their eWallet and transfer up to RM100 to others on a monthly basis.
The company explained that the RM1,000 Group Term Life Insurance Coverage payout is only applicable to those who successfully enrolled through Boost and who are not existing Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) and Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd customers.
It added that this is because existing Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd and Prudential BSN Takaful Bhd customers are already covered under the Special Covid-19 Coverage.
According to an FAQ, qualified users can submit a completed claims form with relevant medical reports to any Prudential branch to receive their coverage. Payment will be made within 14 working days.
The Health Ministry reported that Malaysia has 22 cases of Covid-19 so far. The last confirmed case was detected on Feb 15.
