MCO: Maxis, Digi, Yoodo or Tune Talk user? Find out how you can get your free daily 1GB Internet data starting April 1

Maxis users can redeem their free additional daily 1GB Internet data starting tomorrow (April 1), throughout the extended movement control order (MCO) period.

The 1GB data pass is valid from 8am to 6pm, and any extra usage after that will be deducted from the user’s data plan or active passes.

Users have to redeem the 1GB data pass every day through apps like MyMaxis and Hotlink Flex. Click on ‘Get More Data’ and select ‘Free 1GB/Day Pass’ under Time Based Pass.

Hotlink Red app users can click on the Homepage Banner and select Free 1GB/Day Pass. The pass will also be available in the Shop tab.

MaxisOne Prime customers cannot redeem the offer as they are already on an unlimited Internet data plan. Click here for more details about the Maxis 1GB Internet pass.

Previously, the company announced that users can redeem a 3GB of Internet data pass which is valid for 30 days during MCO period. The offer is still available until April 2.

Starting on April 1 as well, Digi postpaid customers can redeem the free 1GB Internet through the Rewards feature on the MyDigi app, while prepaid users can redeem it through the Box of Surprise feature or by dialling *128#.

Users only need to redeem it once and the 1GB will be automatically granted every day. The additional data is valid from 8am to 6pm.

Postpaid infinite plan users are not entitled to the offer as they are already on an unlimited Internet data plan.

Tune Talk users can also redeem free additional 1GB Internet data daily (valid from 8am to 6pm) throughout the MCO period, starting April 1. Users have to be an active subscriber and they will also receive 20% extra credit when they top up during this period.

Send an SMS with the message STAYHOME to 2222 and wait to receive a notification for successful activation. Users only have to send the SMS opt-in once. More information is available here.

Meanwhile Yoodo has also announced that active users will receive an additional 1GB Internet data for free every day from now until April 14. The data will be credited into users’ account.

Yoodo’s free data is not locked to any specific time period and will not expire at the end of the day.

Previously, the company announced that users would get an additional 1GB data every Monday, starting from March 23 until April 27, when the MCO was first implemented. That offer is also still available, and will take effect after the daily 1GB offer expires on April 14.

Other companies like Celcom and U Mobile have already shared details on how users can redeem the free Internet pass.

On March 27, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced free additional Internet data as part of an economic stimulus package during MCO. The telco industry in a joint statement said that the initiative is valued at RM600mil.

The telcos will also pour in an additional RM400mil in investment to maintain the availability, stability and quality of the networks.

The MCO period, which was initially set from March 18 to March 31, has been extended until April 14.
