Bank Muamalat launches second “Save & Win”campaign

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd has today launched the “Save & Win More Kaw Kaw” campaign to encourage customers to save with an opportunity to win attractive prizes including the grand prize of RM1 million cash.

The full-fledged Islamic financial institution said the second campaign would run for one year from August 1 until July 31 next year.

Bank Muamalat chief executive officer Khairul Kamarudin said the campaign was a continuation of the first “Save & Win Kaw Kaw” campaign, having received encouraging response from customers.

“This campaign is in line with Bank Muamalat’s commitment to foster the saving habit among the community, and at the same time enable customers to enjoy attractive rewards to meet their needs, especially as the economy is expected to recover from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said in a statement today.

He added that the previous campaign had succeeded in attracting existing customers, as well as new customers to Bank Muamalat.

As such, the upcoming campaign will offer more rewards.

Bank Muamalat said more than 900 attractive prizes were being offered.

This includes the grand prize money of RM1 million and four premium cars (two units of Honda H-RV, Honda Civic and Proton X70) for the quarterly draws.

Additionally, cash prizes are up for grabs for the national level monthly draw and local monthly draw.

For the second campaign, Bank Muamalat has introduced a special monthly cash prize draw for the category of retirees aged 55 and above.

The campaign is open to all existing and new customers who have savings accounts, current accounts and salary accounts at Bank Muamalat.

Account holders will automatically qualify by maintaining a minimum of RM100 in Bank Muamalat’s savings account and RM500 in the current account during the campaign period.

Earlier, Bank Muamalat presented the four winners from the previous campaign with their prizes, namely the grand prize winner of money worth RM1 million and three quarterly draw winners who each received a Proton X70.

Bank Muamalat consumer banking division senior vice president Zury Rahimee Zainal Abiden said the first campaign, which began from August 7 last year until April 30, had recorded RM292.88 million in deposit value.

“This has surpassed our target with a 63 per cent increase in the number of accounts,” he added.

Zury Rahimee said most savers had received lower profit rates for savings and current accounts, following the recent decline in the Overnight Policy Rate (OPR) of 25 basis points.

“This scenario forces customers to re-evaluate their savings and investment strategies to ensure a more optimal return,” he said.

He said Bank Muamalat had recorded a 25 per cent in deposit growth for current accounts to RM5.5 billion and a 27 per cent increase for savings accounts to RM1.8 billion in the first half of 2020.

Bank Muamalat targets to hit RM400 million in total deposit for the second campaign with a total of RM2.54 million worth of prizes to be won.

“This time, the number of lucky draw prizes will be offered double to 917 winners,” he added.
