Boustead appoints former KLSE chief financial officer to its board

KUALA LUMPUR: Boustead Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Abdul Hamid Sh Mohamed to its board of directors effective from September 1.

Abdul Hamid, 55, brings with him over 30 years of experience in corporate finance, investment, strategy and accounting.

He is currently an executive director of Symphony House Sdn Bhd, a position which he holds since 2003.

From 1998 to 2003, he was with the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (now Bursa Malaysia Bhd) where he rose from senior vice-president to deputy president, and finally chief financial officer.

Abdul Hamid currently also sits on the boards of Maybank Investment Bank Bhd, MMC Corporation Bhd and Ekuiti Nasional Bhd.

“We are confident that Boustead will benefit much from his vast experience in corporate Malaysia,” the company said in a statement today.

“Datuk Abdul Hamid’s expertise in the fields of corporate finance and investment will certainly strengthen the board, as it guides the company in its transformation journey to become a sustainable and high performing organisation,” it added.
