Critical to revive the economy to avoid further unemployment — MEF

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 8): It is critical to revive the economy to avoid further increases in the rate of unemployment and closure of businesses, says the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF).

In a statement today, MEF president Datuk Dr Syed Hussain Syed Husman said employers look forward to the implementation of more projects for local businesses, as well as to attract foreign direct investments.

“These would create more jobs that would generate more income for Malaysians,” he said.

He said MEF stands firmly with the government’s Budget 2021 initiatives in prioritising economic recovery and growth to ensure the revival of businesses and the preservation and creation of jobs.

Syed Hussain reaffirmed MEF’s commitment to providing the necessary support with the objective of accelerating the economic recovery process.

He also commended the government on its inclusivity approach as this would enable stakeholders to share their views and recommendations which would be beneficial for the well-being of the nation.
