Health Ministry joins search for 400 missing just before EMCO implementation

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry will join the search for the 400 individuals from Medan 88, Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi, who recently went missing just before the area was placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said those who went missing were most likely to be illegal immigrants.

“We will advise them to come forward for screening. They ran away probably out of fear of being detained by the authority.

“We will also look into how we can solve the entry of illegal immigrants into the country, whether it is from the peninsula, Sabah or Sarawak,” he said at the daily Covid-19 press conference today.

Dr Noor Hisham also said the ministry would propose for Targeted Enhanced MCO to be implemented in areas with high positive cases at workplaces such as factories.
