#TECH: OPPO unveils flagship Find X3 Pro

OPPO has unveiled its new flagship phone, the Billion Colour Find X3 Pro, which features a full-path 10-bit Colour Management System and True Billion Colour Display diring a live steaming event from Shenzhen, China last night.

The phone also features two Billion Colour flagship cameras which somes in a sleek body.

“We have taken inspiration from the depths of the cosmos, from the future, and the past, to deliver OPPO Find X3 Pro, created to fit seamlessly in your life while opening it to new worlds. Every millimetre, inside and out, is designed to be powerful and flexible, immersive and always sparking beautiful emotions with Billion Colour brilliance,” said OPPO’s president of global marketing, Lie Liu.

Bllion colour display

One of the highlights of the phone is its true Billion Colour QHD+ (3216 x 1440) OLED display. The 6.7-inch screen features a low-on-bezel design with OPPO’s Full-path 10-bit Colour Management System for better visuals.

Boasting a crystal-clear 525PPI pixel density and peak brightness of 1300 nits, OPPO Find X3 Pro is sharp and bright; and with a staggeringly broad 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, the tones it displays are virtually lifelike. The quality is undeniable, with a colour accuracy rating of 0.4 JNCD, not to mention A+ DisplayMate certification.

OPPO said the Find X3 Pro’s display can natively deliver a 5 ∼ 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, thanks to its power-efficient LTPO OLED panel. Visuals glide and flow, while also saving power, whether you’re blasting through a multiplayer game, scrolling through your social newsfeed or reading an e-book.

Design

The Find X3 Pro is super-slim and lightweight. Measuring just 8.26mm deep and weighing 193 grams, it can slide easily into the pocket and sits naturally in-hand, all the while being IP68 water and dust-resistant.

The Find X3 Pro in Blue features a new anti-glare matte finish, frosted to a precise level of 85 percent opacity. With its dual-tone, a satin finish is set against a high-gloss camera surround, creating a rich visual and tactile contrast. The other colour is Gloss Black with a ceramic-like finish for a high-end look.

Camera

The Find X3 Pro offers wide and ultra-wide lenses with an IMX766 50MP sensor, which the company co-engineered with Sony. Both lenses are said able to capture rich, Billion Colour images and video, with intelligent autofocus and a 4cm macro focus distance.

Besides that, the phone also features a 60x magnification Microlens for micro shots.

Video-wise, it has a 4K 10-bit video recording and a log capture, to make it easy for filmmakers or point-and-shoot social media lovers to create content.

5G support

The Find X3 Pro is powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, it’s supercharged to handle even the most demanding games, with a 64-bit octa-core chipset offering CPU speeds of up to 2.84GHz — a 25 per cent performance boost over its predecessor. It also has an Adreno 660 GPU that offers a 35 per cent improvement in rendering graphics. Its ultra thin vapour chamber cooling system, meanwhile, keeps temperatures down.

Featuring Dual Mode 5G, Find X3 Pro supports NSA and SA 5G networks for reliable speed in more places. It also supports 13 5G bands – amongst the highest number of any flagship smartphone – as well as Dual-5G SIM cards.

Battery-wise, the phone comes with a large 4500mAh battery with a SuperVOOC 2.0 flash charging, and a 30W AirVOOC wireless flash charging.

Meanwhile, the OS used is the ColorOS 11.2, which combines Google’s Android 11 operating system to deliver incredible experiences and class-leading privacy features, while maintaining full access to the Google Play Store and its over 3 million apps.

The OPPO Find X3 Pro will ship from March 30, but as of Press time, no local pricing is available yet.
