#TECH: Hassle free group and chat import on BiP

ISTANBUL: Turkey’s secure life and communication platform BiP introduces a new feature — group and individual chat import, allowing users to convey group chats easily from other applications.

Reaching out to its 80 million global users, BiP sustains innovative investments and introduces group chat import which supports movement of existing group and individual chats including videos and photographs automatically, and at once.

Unlike other applications in the market, BiP users won’t have to add users one by one onto the app as BiP handles the import directly.

BiP chief executive officer, Burak Akinci said the new feature is the future of messaging as messaging apps are no longer used to just communicate with but it has become a lifestyle application where users use it for socialising, work and business too.

“Digitisation is becoming a norm rapidly. A messaging application is not only a messaging application anymore but more of a living ecosystem via we communicate, work and trade.

“Exceptional relations between Malaysia and Turkey have been a great motivation for BiP from day one. In just a couple of months we’ve reached more than a million downloads with very high like scores on various platforms. We are also pursuing productive collaborations with operators and local content providers in the Malaysian market to invest in innovative and localised solutions for our Malaysian users,” explains Akinci.

According to its data, messaging and group video calls with up to 10 people in HD quality are BiP’s most popular features among the app’s users in Malaysia. Bip also recorded three times more users in March as compared to January this year.

The freeware instant messaging application’s instant translation feature–a feature which received the Most Innovative Mobile App award at 2020 Global Mobile Awards under the Connected Consumer category, as well as its secret messaging are two other highly preferred features by Malaysian consumers.

The instant translation feature is able to translate written words and phrases in 106 different languages, including Bahasa Malaysia. The Secret chat feature on the other hand, enables users to make the chats disappear from the chat screen for a duration which they can decide. The secret chat offers a solid sense of security and privacy for its users, especially that no data is being backed up by the app or decrypted.

“Data ethics and security has paramount importance for us. A protected and seamless migration experience is a symbol for our dedication in a thorough and fulfilled CX,” said Akinci adding that users need to feel safe and secure and in an era where we are under continuous cyber-crime threats as businesses and individuals, consumers’ protection and consent are critical features which BiP is serious about.

The messaging app shares no data with third parties either, and all data is kept under high-tech data centres based in Turkey. Nothing is imposed on the users, and everything is operated only with users consent.

Allowing up to 1000 users in a single group chatroom, BiP also enables shortcuts for frequently communicated users or groups on home screen.
